The first Apple store in India will debut in Mumbai

The first Apple Store will shortly open in the Jio World Drive shopping centre, owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Additionally, Apple is building a second retail space, which will open in Delhi soon.

The most valuable tech company in the world, People, will soon open its first retail outlet in India in order to uphold its exclusive status in the market. The Cupertino, California-based corporation posted a picture on Wednesday of the barricade surrounding its retail site in Mumbai, the capital city of India, even though the launch date has not yet been announced.

The company is launching an Apple Store in India at a time when demand for Apple products, particularly the iPhone, has skyrocketed there. India is the second-largest smartphone market in the world, so Apple has a lot of space to grow in this segment. Cupertino has now expanded the scale of its production plants in India.

Apple has more than 500 stores in renowned international destinations like New York, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. In order to "feel like a town square" and serve as a location for public events, every store has undergone refurbishment. All Today at Apple events take place at Apple Stores, which is distinguished by its lush tree canopy and gigantic "visual wall," which is utilised in the more interactive sessions.

A sign outside the store said it will be "arriving shortly". Apple did not immediately respond to a request for additional details, such the opening date (AAPL). More than 20 years before the launch, the California-based corporation made its first entrance into the Indian market through independent distributors.

Apple and other multinational retailers were compelled to work with local partners for many years since it was illegal for them to build stores in the country unless at least 30% of their raw materials were produced domestically. That situation changed in 2019 as the Indian government relaxed several investment requirements.

In 2020, the company launched an online store in India, allowing customers to buy its products and, for the first time, customise some devices. I don't want someone else to handle the brand for us, said Tim Cook, the company's CEO, when he earlier emphasised the importance of developing a local retail network.
